Hi 1 Piso Fare Friends! We are providing a guide on how you can add baggage allowance to a confirmed booking in Cebu Pacific Air. If you miss adding prepaid baggage during booking, worry not because you can still add via Manage Booking.
Whether or not, you bought a Cebu Pacific promo ticket for flying this 2019 or it’s a regular ticket (non-promo), you can ADD PREPAID BAGGAGE to your booking.
- You booked without any prepaid baggage and you want to add check-in bag allowance now.
- You booked a prepaid baggage but it’s kulang so you want to upgrade it to the next package. Example: from STANDARD 20 kgs to LARGE 32 kgs.
MORE ABOUT PREPAID BAGGAGE
Before our 1Pisofare.com Team shows you how to add baggage allowance to an existing booking, you must be aware of these factors first:
- Cebu Pacific prepaid baggage is cheaper if you will buy it DURING booking of tickets. The rate of prepaid baggage is higher if you will buy it AFTER you get flight confirmation, i.e. you will add baggage via “Manage Booking” tab.
- If you will buy baggage AT THE AIRPORT, you will pay the regular rate.
Prepaid baggage fee bought during booking process is around 50% LESSER than the price that you will pay if you will be forced to buy baggage at the airport.
3. Excess baggage fee will only be charged if you already have a prepaid baggage for your flight.
Demo 1: You bought prepaid baggage 20 kilos at the current 2019 rate of P380.80. Upon check-in, you found out that your bag weighs 22 kilos. Therefore, you have excess baggage of 2 kilos.
At the airport check-in counter, you will now make additional payment for the excess 2 kilos x P250 per kilo = P500.
Total amount paid for baggage (20 kgs prepaid P380.80 + 2 kgs excess P500) is P880.80.
Demo 2 : You did not buy any prepaid baggage. Upon checking in for your Cebu Pacific flight, you found out that your bag weighs 13 kilos and you must check this in. How much will you pay in this scenario?
The minimum bag allowance that can be bought at the airport check-in counter is 20 kilos and the rate is P1,000 for short-haul flights and domestic flights.
Therefore, the total amount paid for baggage will be P1,000 even if your bag only weighs 13 kgs.
If you bought PREPAID BAGGAGE during booking or via Manage Booking, ang mababayaran mo lang sana is P380.80 at hindi P1,000. Mahal talaga ang baggage pag dating sa airport check-in counter.
*This is also the method of Air Asia – if you don’t have any prepaid baggage when you get to the check-in counter, even if your bag only weighs say 9 kilos, you are required to pay the minimum 20 kilos at the check-in counter.

Cebu Pacific Excess Baggage Price 2019
As of 2019, Cebu pacific excess baggage price for domestic is P250 per kilo, it’s also P250 rate for international short-haul flights.
Ang mahal! So we strongly advise that you buy prepaid baggage during booking process or via Manage Booking if you feel that you will exceed the 7 kilos of free hand carry baggage allowance.
A passenger is allowed to add prepaid baggage to a confirmed booking at most 4 HOURS before the flight schedule.
Example: Flight is at 7 PM, you can still add baggage up to 3 PM. After 3:01 PM you can no longer buy baggage allowance.
GUIDE on BUYING Baggage Allowance via Manage Booking of Cebu Pacific
The Cebu Pacific Air baggage price is cheapest if one buy the prepaid baggage during ticket booking.

Prepaid baggage price increases more if baggage is bought via Manage Booking tab with the flight less than 14 days away.
Please be guided.
DEMO SITUATION
For our example, we have this situation: The booking is for 2 persons traveling from Manila to Cebu via Cebu Pacific Air with flight schedule end of April 2019.
Person A already bought 20 kilos baggage during the booking process, the fee was only P380.80.
Effective rate per kilo for Person A is P380.80 / 20 kilos = P19.04 per kilo of prepaid baggage (STANDARD).
Now, Person B wants to buy 20 kilos too, let’s assume the flight is 10 days away. Since Person B did not buy baggage during booking, he will now add baggage via Manage Booking. Remember that the prepaid baggage rate is HIGHER if bought AFTER original booking date, then it becomes even higher if the flight is 14 days away. The price of the 20 kilos prepaid baggage is now P529.00 for person B.
Effective rate per kilo for Person B is P529.00 / 20 kilos = P26.45 per kilo of prepaid baggage (SMALL).
Can the two baggage be combined when these 2 passengers checks-in for their flight?
YES. Cebu Pacific can combine baggage allowance of all passengers in a SINGLE ITINERARY or one record locator. Since Passenger A and Passenger B are booked in one itinerary, they can pool their baggage allowance. Their total check-in bag allowance now is 40 kilos BUT the maximum number of bags that can be checked-in is 4 bags!
*If Passenger A book his own ticket and Passenger B book his own ticket, their prepaid baggage cannot be combined because they have separate flight itineraries or different record locators. They will also check-in individually, not as a group.
NEW BAGGAGE POLICY OF CEBU PACIFIC effective January 15, 2019.
