You need an internet connection to sign up to the online appointment scheduling system.
Our 1 Piso Fare team provided details previously on the requirements needed for first time passport applicant and for those who wants to renew their expired or near-expiry passports.
But we were not able to provide you with how to set-up a passport online application right away since we have to wait for someone in our team to actually apply for a new passport. And today’s the day, 1 Piso Fare will walk you through the process of DFA online appointment.

List of DFA Offices for Online Passport Appointment
These are the DFA branches and offices in the Philippines where you can schedule appointments for passport processing via online.

- DFA Manila (Aseana)
- DFA NCR Northwest (Ali Mall)
- DFA NCR South (Alabang)
- DFA NCR West (SM Manila)

- General Santos
- La Union
- Puerto Princesa
Phase 1 – How To Schedule An Appointment
First step: Go to the DFA website passport appointment system. Link to sign up provided at the bottom of this post.
Second step: When the website loads, put a check mark beside the statement “I have read and understood the instructions and information on this page….”. After that click “start individual appointment”.
Third step: You need to select the DFA office where you want to file the application. Then click Next.
Fourth step: Choose your preferred date for personal appearance. Click Next.
Fifth step: Choose your preferred time from available time slots. Click Next
Sixth step: The passport application form will load. Completely fill-up the form page by page. Just click Next and Next until you completely accomplished the form.
Seventh step: Wait for the email from DFA with further instructions.
ONLINE PASSPORT APPLICATION FORM
These are the pages you need to fill-up. You need to input all data correctly as you go. If you entered wrong details, you might encounter issue with your passport later on. So review and make sure all data are 100% correct at each page.
3rd page: Application Type and Basis of Citizenship. For application type select whether or not you are applying for a new passport or renewing an old one.
On the basis of citizenship: you need to choose the basis of why you are a Filipino citizen. Options are by birth, election, marriage, naturalization, R.A. 9225 (dual citizenship), others.
Phase 2 – Receiving the Email about confirmed schedule

Make sure that you have a working email that can receive the message from DFA about your confirmed slot and also the PDF copy of your application form.
If you did not receive a confirmation email within 24 hours (don’t forget to check the spam folder!), kindly call DFA to inquire if your online application went through successfully.
- Check your email and find the message from the DFA about your confirmed personal appearance for passport processing.
- You will see a schedule verification link in the email that you need to click within 24 hours after applying online.
- There is also a link to download the PDF copy of your accomplished passport application form. Click to download and print.
- Prepare ALL required documents – IDs, supporting docs, etc.
Phase 3 – PERSONAL APPEARANCE DAY
- Make sure all the needed documents are ready.
- Go to your chosen DFA site, consular office, or embassy abroad for biometrics data capture on your confirmed appointment for personal appearance. Bring the passport requirements when you show up for your appointment.
SHOW UP for your passport appointment!
Remember that you have to show up on your appointment date with the selected DFA passport processing office. There is a dress code to process passport concerns!!! – No shorts, no spaghetti straps blouses/dresses, no dresses that are above the knees, no flip flops.
Failure to show up or “No Show” will lead to a penalty; you will be banned for 30 days from reserving another slot online.
This is done by the DFA to stop unscrupulous individuals from setting up appointments with no intention of showing up.
Can you cancel your appointment? Yes, cancel at least 5 working days before your confirmed schedule. If you know you can’t make the date, cancel ASAP! There is a link in the email to cancel a confirmed appointment for passport personal appearance.
*It is not sure if timely cancellation will exempt one from the 30 days banned.
What is the advantage of signing up for an appointment to process your passport? Convenience, no need to queue the long lines typical of passport processing because you only have to show up in the DFA office at your allotted time and date.
Walk-in applicants updates (Updated October 4, 2016) – Walk-ins are reserve for Emergency Cases or Special Cases only.
- Returning OFW/Seaman
- Medical Emergency
- Death of a family member
Special cases / priority cases
- Pregnant women with medical certificate
- Minors 7 years old and below ( Per DFA personnel advisory – There is an allowed PLUS ONE in the courtesy lane of DFA – Aseana, example: the mother of the 6 year old child who also wants to process her passport at the same time with her child).
