2018 Philippine Holidays List

Piso fare 2018 promo watchers, take note of the Philippine National Holidays for next year when planning your trips. Also, be mindful of the long weekends for 2018 listed on this post.

LIST 2018 Philippine National Holidays

The official declaration of the Regular and Special Non-Working Holidays in the Philippines for 2018 will come from Malacanang via a Presidential Decree that will be issued and signed by President Duterte. This Malacanang declaration of holidays usually comes early or mid-August of each year. Making it possible for Filipinos to align vacation and trip plans for next year, as well as activities to engage in during the several long weekends ahead.

The list of 2018 Holidays sa Pilipinas has now been OFFICIALLY DECLARED!!! The declaration was signed by President Duterte last July 17, 2017, under Proclamation no. 269.

How many long weekends for 2018? See below, there may be additional LW to the list. Check the calendar and plot your future trips.

For our 1Pisofare readers: The nationwide holidays for the Muslim celebrations of Eid’l Fitr 2018 and Eidul Adha will be covered via a separate declaration by President Duterte / Malacanang. Usually, Eid holiday is declared in June of each year.

 

Here is the list of Philippine Holidays for 2018 

January 1, 2018, Monday – This is always declared a Regular Holiday to celebrate the New Year. #NY2018. This is a long weekend Saturday – Sunday – Monday!

February 16 2018, Friday – The Chinese New Year 2018 is declared as a Special non-working day. #CNY2018 will be celebrated on February 16, 2018. You can now book tickets if you want to travel during this LONG WEEKEND Chinese New Year 2018!!!

February 25, 2018, Sunday –  In the Malacanang declaration of holidays last July 17, 2018, EDSA People Power Revolution is declared as Special NON-WORKING holiday to celebrate People Power Anniversary.

*On previous years, this holiday is a Special (non-working) holiday wherein only the students have no school but private and public employees still have to go to work. But based on Proclamation 269, February 25th is declared as special non-working holiday, which falls on a Sunday.

March 29, 30, 31, April 1, 2018,  Thursday to Saturday – These are the dates of the Holy Week 2018 based on our research. But we advise not to book any promo fare tickets for these dates yet, please wait for the official declaration of Malacanang as to when is Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Black Saturday, and Easter Sunday for next year. Once there is official notice from Malacanang as to the 2018 Holy Week holiday list, 1Pisofare will update this section.

UPDATE! Holy Week 2018 in the Philippines has been declared by Malacanang:

  • March 29 and March 30 – Regular Holiday
  • March 31 – Special (non-working) Holiday

April 9, 2018, Monday – The Araw ng Kagitingan is a Regular holiday, for 2018 it will fall on a Monday, therefore, this is another long weekend – Saturday, Sunday, Monday.

May 1, 2018, Tuesday – This is a fix date for the Labor Day celebration which is a Regular holiday. You can file for a VL for date April 30, 2018 so you can make this a long weekend –Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday.

June 12, 2018, Tuesday – The Philippine Independence Day 2018, a Regular holiday will fall on a Tuesday. We recommend that you take a vacation leave for Monday June 11 2018 so you will have a long weekend – Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday.

June or July 2018 – Eid’l Fitr (Regular holiday)  

 **The Muslim religious holidays Eid’l Fitr and Eid ul Adha 2018 will be declared separately by Malacanang. Please watch out for it. It might be a long weekend holiday.
UPDATE, UPDATE! Eid’l Fitr 2018 is on June 15, 2018 (FRIDAY). Additional long weekend holiday!

 

August 21, 2018, Tuesday – This Special non-working holiday is for the Ninoy Aquino Day. You may want to file a vacation leave for August 20 to enjoy a long weekend for this national holiday.

 

Feast of Sacrifice or Eid al Adha 2018

We checked proclamations of the president in the official Malacanang website, we haven’t seen a formal proclamation that August 22, 2018 is the official Eid’l Adha holiday.  But in several news sites like Abs-Cbn they are saying that August 22, 2018 is the date for Eid-al Adha. 

We will update this post once it is 100% confirmed.

UPDATE August 15: The OFFICIAL DATE declared by President Duterte for Eid’l Adha is AUGUST 21, 2018 and not August 22, 2018. See a copy of the proclamation released by Malacanang.

August 27, 2018, Monday – The National Heroes Day is celebrated on the last MONDAY of August. This is a regular holiday. Another Long Weekend 2018 Alert!!! Saturday – Sunday – Monday.

November 1, 2018, Thursday – All Saints Day is a Special non-working day

November 2, 2018, Friday – Additional special (non-working) holiday

So it is a long weekend next year for Undas 2018!

November 30, 2018, Friday – Bonifacio Day is a Regular holiday, a fix date. Long weekend alert Bonifacio Day 2018!!! Friday, Saturday, Sunday

December 24, 2018, Monday – Additional special (non-working) day a day before Christmas 2018! Hurray!!!

December 25, 2018, Tuesday – Christmas Day is a Regular holiday.

Therefore, Christmas celebration will be a long weekend from December 22 (Saturday), December 23 (Sunday), December 24 (Monday), and December 25 (Tuesday). Awesome gift for the season!

December 30, 2018, Sunday – Rizal Day is a Regular holiday

December 31, 2018, Monday – Last day of the year is also declared as a Special (non-working) Holiday by President Duterte. Find piso fare and other promos now for year end getaway!

The end of 2018 and start of 2019 is a Long Weekend!!!
