New Zealand is one of the emerging markets for airline companies in the Philippines because of its growing Filipino community. Currently there are thousands of Filipino workers and students in New Zealand.
Cebu Pacific is the only airline company currently interested in flying to New Zealand.
The matter of approval may come within a month, after a board meeting of the Civil Aviation Board of the Philippines.
If approved, Cebu Pacific will be given an unlimited number of flights to and from New Zealand. They will also be allowed to pick up passengers from New Zealand and fly them to not only in the Philippines but in other countries as well.
As part of the Air Pact agreement between the 2 countries, airliners from New Zealand will be given permission to pick up passengers from Manila going to China destinations.
Cebu Pacific is also interested in more flights going to Indonesia, Hong Kong, Haneda Japan, and Australia.
Cebu Pacific is now operating a lone long haul flight which is for Dubai, but flights to Australia and Kuwait will start a few months from now.
As of the moment, Cebu Pac has applied for only 7 flights to New Zealand.
There are also some news spreading that Cebu Pac is also eyeing flights to Saudi Arabia.
